Barbara H. Cole
Barb is a Family Nurse Practitioner in practice since 1999. Prior to becoming an NP, she spent 20 years as a staff nurse in ICU, CCU, and the emergency room. She also spent 5 years on an ALS unit running as a Health Professional: a nurse with medic training. Her first 9 years as an NP were in Internal Medicine working with renal diseases, hypertension, and kidney failure, including following transplant patients. The last 10 years have been spent in Family Practice, and she is currently with Penn State Health Medical Group in State College at Park Avenue. Barb has a deep interest in alternative treatments and a healthy life, not just the use of western pharmaceutical medicine. She helps her patients understand health and wellness through natural means to stay healthy using good nutrition, exercise, and does lots of teaching to help them develop healthy lifelong habits.
Fitness Enthusiast and advocate of vibrant health and wellness, Joan Karp, will be sharing her process of creating a refreshing beverage full of healing enzymes – her Kombucha. You’ll hear how she discovered this ancient and earthy process which reveals a living, breathing, drinkable nirvana that is a natural boost to our gut health. Joan’s family business, Mount Nitanee Kombucha, will be offering taste sampling as well as all of their seasonal flavors for purchase that day.
